Emily undertook an externship at Crownpoint NM Indian Hospital. She enjoyed the IHS, and when she became licensed, worked in Tuba City AZ on the Navajo Reservation. After working two years for HIS, Emily returned to Ohio where she worked in several hospitals.

The New Mexico Society of Health-System Pharmacists is pleased to announce its newest membership service – The NMSHP Clinical Section – a website dedicated to your clinical/specialty practice. The site is a result of the Strategic Planning Session held by the NMSHP Board of Directors in October, and was identified as a potential need of our members.

NMSHP Secretary Debby Caraballo, Pharm.D., BCPS, Ph.C. pulled the information together and serves as the coordinator of the cardiovascular segment of the site.

At the present time only cardiovascular-related topics are posted. We plan to expand based on your feedback and are looking for coordinators for other specialty areas such as anticoagulation, oncology, pediatrics, etc.

We are also seeking NMSHP members who would be willing to be listed on the cardiovascular site as individuals who would be willing to share information and resources. As you will see, the site is a blog through which pharmacists engaged in clinical practice can communicate and refer to posted information. Development of such a network can benefit you and your practice immensely. Here’s a chance to network with folks throughout the State who share your special interests and needs.

And, finally, give us your feedback – do you have additional items that should be posted? Are some guidelines or documents out-of-date? Do you have a protocol that you could share? Contact Debby – debbycaraballo@yahoo.com – or leave a comment on the blog.

It’s all about you – the most important pharmacists in the world – the members of NMSHP!
